It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

Bechtel International Center584 Capistrano WayStanford, CA 94305

Meet one-on-one with an international student, spouse, scholar or post-doc to assist in conversational English skills, learning about life in the USA and the local community. Share culture. Meetings are one hour per week but you can work the schedule to yours. There are no lesson plans, only responding to the needs of the student to help them enjoy the Stanford experience while they are on campus. We prefer volunteers who can drive. After meeting with a student and upon agreement of the student and the volunteer, meetings can take place in a public location off campus, but not in a volunteer's home. You will have an in-person interview with the program chair prior to being assigned a student.
