The Taste America Los Angeles gala will take place on Friday, October 12th at the SLS Hotel, Beverly Hills. Taste America National All-Star Andrew Carmellini of The Dutch (New York, NY) will collaborate with Local All-Star Ludo Lefebvre of Trois Mec (Los Angeles, CA) and Host Chef Holly Jivin of The Bazaar by José Andrés to create a one-of-a-kind three-course dining experience. This unique partnering of culinary greats will also feature both a tasting and dessert reception, where chefs Wes Avila of Guerrilla Tacos, Raphael Francois of Tesse, Pawan Mahendro of Badmaash, Mei Lin of Nightshade, Curtis Stone of Maude, Margarita Manzke of République, Lincoln Carson of Bon Temps , Mitzi Reyes of SLS Hotel and more will dazzle guests with their unique culinary styles.
Volunteer duties may include:
- Check-in
- Assisting the photographer (writing down names as he takes photos at the step & repeat)
- Silent Auction support
- Live Auction support
- Auction Check out
- Event support/Misc. support
Once confirmed, and closer to the event, we can provide a more detailed itinerary that includes details for timing, parking, dress code, etc. We also provide a light meal/water/snacks.

Description
A cookbook author and teacher, James Beard was a champion of American cuisine who helped educate and mentor generations of professional chefs and food enthusiasts. Today the Beard Foundation continues in the same spirit by offering a variety of events and programs designed to educate, inspire, entertain, and foster a deeper understanding of our culinary culture. These programs include educational initiatives, food industry awards, an annual national food conference, Leadership Awards program, culinary scholarships, and publications. In addition to maintaining the historic James Beard House in New York City’s Greenwich Village as a "performance space" for visiting chefs, the Foundation has created a robust online community, and hosts conferences, tastings, lectures, workshops, and food-related art exhibits in New York City and around the country.
