Plymouth Healing Communities is seeking an Event Planning Specialist to help plan and execute multiple low-cost fundraising events. Examples include happy hours, poetry readings and 1-3 dinners at major donors’ houses where the donor invites friends and Plymouth Healing Communities representatives share the mission of the agency.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with the Executive Director to understand theme, targeted attendees and desired outcomes of each individual event
- Assist with planning of all aspects of each event in coordination with staff members and other volunteers
- Contribute ideas for fundraising opportunities
- Research potential venues and coordinate necessary contracts
- Manage multiple tasks associated with each event, including tasks associated with preparation, day of, and after event follow up:
- Maintain event registration details and track attendees in Sales Force database
- Grassroots outreach to both businesses and individuals for cash, product and in-kind donations; provide stewardship of donors and donations
- Track inventory of all event related supplies
- Coordinate communications between staff and volunteers, venue and service providers, event sponsors and donors
- Coordinate event logistics and provide clear directions to staff and event volunteers
- Help with event communications and publicity, including social media, email and phone calls
- Organize event-day collateral including, but not limited to, raffle tickets, programs, table cards, name tags, etc.
- Post-event duties including thanking sponsors and event guests
Qualifications:
- Be passionate about the mission of Plymouth Healing Communities
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
- Ability to engage others in conversation and solicit needed information
- Creative, enthusiastic and fun to work with
- Sense of urgency
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Exceptional organization skills and outstanding attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
Supervision:
- Plymouth Healing Communities Executive Director
Time Commitment:
Scheduling is flexible and the average number of hours required is 15 - 30 hours per event or between 10 and 15 hours per month. Must be available for the full duration, including set-up and breakdown, of each event on the day of that event.

Plymouth Healing Communities works to break the cycle of hospitalization for mental health and homelessness by providing supportive small-scale transitional and permanent housing in Seattle.
Description
We have a transitional home (house of healing) where people recently released from inpatient care can land for a safe and nonlinear support structure. We also have 6 other small permanent housing located throughout Seattle to give people access to all the benefits of living in areas such as Ballard and Beacon Hill. We rely heavily on our Companions, our main nonlinear, supportive program for residents, to provide the key ingredients in restoring a sense of belonging for residents in all of our housing!
