Do you love history? Do you want to be an integral part of an organization that is in an exciting development phase in branding its "museum without walls" concept? Are you interested in reenactment, social media, computer programs, education or program development? WE HAVE JUST THE SPOT FOR YOU!!! We are flexible and appreciative of as little or as much time as you are able to give.
New Sweden Centre is seeking full or part-time college students for unpaid, volunteer positions to work with our Board members to achieve their goals. Your abilities will be matched with the many needs to meet our objectives including:
- Increasing NSC exposure through social media, creating/posting information
- Assisting our Historian with developing and maintaining the inventory program
- Developing exhibit and promotional materials
- Creating and expanding the colonial clothing collection inventory
- Participating in 17 th century reenactment activities (period clothing and accessories are provided)
- Setting up exhibits throughout the Delaware Valley area
- Working in our "Settlers Trunk" project which provides educational materials to schools and historical organizations
- Participating in the planning and execution of fund raising projects
- Conducting research on 17 th century history in the Delaware Valley
- Other tasks as may be needed

Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote Delaware Valley history during the period of 1638-1776 focusing on Swedish, Finnish and Lenape culture. As a museum without walls, NSC has exhibits throughout the Delaware Valley. Our main exhibit is at Junior Achievement Finance Park, 522 Walnut Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
Description
The New Sweden Centre serves as an interpretive museum without walls exhibiting artifacts in various Delaware Valley locations. NSC develops and presents educational programs, supports public events with our period reenactor group and provides customized tours upon request. Our unique Settler Trunk program is available for schools to educate children on the early history of the colonial Swedes.
