Hospital advocacy duties include: providing on-call (as needed) response, support and information to child abuse victims and their non-offending caregivers. Kids' Harbor hospital advocate volunteers are assigned to Lake Regional and/or General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital emergency departments where victim injuries are treated and documented.
We value volunteer service and strive to provide a rewarding and challenging experience. Through compassion and dedication, you can make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

Mission Statement
To provide coordinated response, healing and prevention of child abuse.
Description
Kids’ Harbor, Inc., a Child Advocacy Center, serves the Lake of the Ozarks area in central Missouri, Fort Leonard Wood and surrounding areas. It is our mission is to provide coordinated response, healing and prevention of child abuse. We assist victims and their non-offending family members as they make their way through the difficult and often frightening process of a child abuse investigation.
Kids’ Harbor, Inc. was established in 2001 by a task force of concerned community members; our two centers (Osage Beach and St. Robert) are nationally accredited by the National Children’s Alliance.
We provide a child-friendly environment where children are interviewed by our experienced Forensic Interviewers and then supported by a Child and Family Advocate who explains procedures and accompanies the child and non-offending family member(s) through the entire court process.
We also provide:
On site forensic medical exams
Evidence-based, trauma informed counseling
Crisis intervention and emotional support
Interdisciplinary case review by Law Enforcement, Children’s Division, Prosecutors, Child Advocates, Medical and Mental Health
Services are provided to children (ages 0-18) and are free of charge. Most referrals involve allegations of sexual abuse, but also include physical and emotional abuse, physical and medical neglect, witnesses to violence, and drug endangered cases.
