Support residents in meeting their spiritual needs by either assisting with group services or one-on-one.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Helping with Service:
Help the Activity Assistant escort residents from their rooms to the location of the Service, as well as back to their rooms at the completion of the Service
During the Service, assist residents with their needs (which might include but are not limited to getting water, Kleenex and/or retrieving dropped items)
Distribute materials
Assist residents in understanding and following directions
Maintain a safe aisle passage way
Help with set-up of the space
Log service hours in the volunteer binder.
Meeting with Residents One-on-One:
Visit with residents as requested by the Pastoral Care Director
Engage in activities such as reading, praying or various other projects of a spiritual nature.
Log service hours in the volunteer binder.
TIME COMMITMENT
A minimum volunteer commitment of three months is requested. When a volunteer is unable to come to Manor for a scheduled shift, he/she is expected to notify the Volunteer Coordinator.
SUPERVISION
The Volunteer Coordinator will supervise the Pastoral Volunteer.
QUALIFICATIONS
Able to push residents as needed as well as bend and lift light objects
Friendly and reliable
Respect diverse lifestyles, cultures, religions and values
Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with staff and fellow volunteers.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Volunteer applicants need to complete a disclosure form for a national criminal background check as well as submit immunization documentation for Chickenpox (Varicella), Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Tdap, (Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis) TB, a yearly physical and the flu shot. Some of these requirements can be provided through Saint Elizabeth Manor.

With 133 beds, Saint Elizabeth Manor provides long-term care, short-term rehabilitative care, specialized care for residents with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and hospice care.
