You have a big heart full of compassion

Optimal Hospice - Fresno is seeking caring individuals to join our volunteer team! As a companionship volunteer, you will bring your skills and talents to enrich the lives of patients currently facing a terminal illness on hospice. We believe that when we can no longer add days to life, volunteers can add life to days.

Companionship volunteers will:

• Be a friend to a patient
• Assist patients with activities to engage them
• Listen, and share, stories with patients and families
• Read books and/or scripture
• Deliver birthday cards

We will work with your schedule! Optimal Hospice will work with your schedule to ensure volunteering is something to enjoy. The patients you see will be located at a home, assisted living and/or skilled nursing facility that is convenient for you to visit in Fresno and Madera County. All volunteers are non-medical and do not provide direct patient care.

Optimal Hospice does provide reimbursement for travel mileage when visiting patients.
