You will really help bring this network together and develop the infrastructure to allow local leaders to flourish. You will also help make the network accessible to the general public and set clear expectations for various people and groups to engage. You will help pull together all of the documentation developed by the local chapters over the past 13 years, conduct interviews and help organize the base documents, templates and processes for establishing grassroots community design operations. This work will help support the global development of local initiatives, and the practitioners who commit to running such endeavours. The outcome will be a clearly defined process and documents for more opportunities to work with marginalized communities so they may advocate for themselves in the built environment.
This project is a very creative one. There is plenty of opportunity for graphic design, content creation, writing, video creation and more. You will have the freedom and encouragement to create the most relevant and engaging content to support chapter leaders around the world. Hopefully you will be driven by the challenge of figuring out how to simultaneously be relevant to populations around the globe!
You will be working directly with the executive director and have access to the organization's advisors and core collaborators. We are very open and transparent and encourage questions and wild ideas. The executive director will also set up goals and learning objectives at the beginning of the internship and check back on those goals to make sure they are being addressed.
This job can be done virtually or in the Bay Area in CA. There is also the chance for a very small stipend depending on experience and committment.More opportunities with OPEN ARCHITECTURE COLLABORATIVE INC

Description
We are local designers working with underserved communities, contributing resources to a global network.
When people design and build their own environments, they take ownership of the places they create, sustain them long term, keep them safe, invest in them, and color them with their most precious expressions. We bring together architects, designers, nonprofit organizations, municipalities and local community groups, enabling underserved communities to take ownership of collectively created places.
