Join the Encompass Family and become a Hospice Volunteer. Encompass is looking for volunteers to provide companionship and support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members.
As a Hospice Volunteer you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do. Here are just a few specific ways Hospice Volunteers can help: Provide companionship and socialization; Help with general office support; Play games, read and listen to music with patients; Walk/care for family pets; Assist with light house cleaning; Create a photo album of patient and family; Write a journal or life story with patients to give to family; Bring your own special talents to share with our patients.
Encompass values the generosity of our volunteers and provides training and on-going support.

Mission Statement
A Better Way To Care is our motto and guiding principle. The mission of Encompass Hospice is to bring superior and compassionate medical and supportive care to our patients and caregivers in a sensitive, responsive and attentive manner. It is our mission to offer peace of body, mind, and spirit by caring for the dying, comforting the grieving, and educating the community.
Description
When facing a life-limiting diagnosis, you can trust end-of-life care to Encompass Hospice Services. Our compassionate end-of-life care is provided in the patient’s home, whether that is a home address, nursing home, assisted living community, independent living community or other location. It focuses on the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of both the individual patient and our patients’ loved ones: caregivers, spouses, children, extended family and friends.
We emphasize dignity and peace, controlling pain and other symptoms so the patient can remain as alert and comfortable as possible. Our medical social workers help the family understand and cope with loss; we can also call upon non-denominational chaplains to provide additional spiritual support and grief counseling.
