Mothers & Others for Clean Air is seeking Clean Air Champions in Georgia and North Carolina. Clean Air Champions help us advocate for policies that protect children and other vulnerable groups from the threats of air pollution and climate change.

This is a flexible volunteer opportunity that can be tailored to match your interests. Staff provide as much hands-on support as the volunteer desires. Possibilities include:

• Storytellers share their personal experiences to put a face to statistics. Stories may be shared online, with the media, at public hearings and/or with legislators.
• Rapid response team members respond to requests from M&O staff to contact elected official about relevant legislation.
• Social media team members help amplify healthy air messages on their own social media accounts.

Mothers & Others for Clean Air, a program of the American Lung Association of the Southeast, is a unique partnership of leading public health and child advocacy organizations. We work to advance public policy that will improve air quality and fight climate change in order to reduce the effects of air pollution on public health, especially children’s health. We partner with medical and public health professionals as well as parents of children with asthma and those with chronic disease.

M&O and its partners are working to reduce pollution from coal-fired power plants, cars, trucks, building and industrial energy use, and promote clean renewable energy sources, energy-efficiency and conservation.
