Position: Office Assistant
Description:
Science from Scientists is looking for an organized and detail-oriented Office Assistant to help us as our organization continues to grow. Volunteer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Checking and sorting mail
Maintaining science kits by: cleaning, restocking and organizing kit contents (orientation provided, list of exact tasks will be provided on a regular basis)
Taking inventory of science and office supplies
Data entry (Microsoft Excel) of science materials vendor information
Requirements:
Our Office Assistant must be able to lift heavy items and be familiar with Microsoft Office. They will be working with our Office Supervisor and Kit Team to complete most tasks. We are looking for help 6 - 8 hours a week. Days can be flexible but the time slot of the day would be from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. This is an unpaid position but will provide letter of recommendation after completion of the program. Five months would be the ideal time commitment from our volunteers.

Description
At Science from Scientists (SfS), we believe that anyone who is curious about the way the world works is a scientist. We employ a staff of real, charismatic STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) graduates and professionals trained to lead students through hands-on activities and labs designed to inspire students, ignite their interest, and build their competency in STEM. We offer a variety of programs throughout the year designed around our mission to "improve student attitudes and aptitudes in STEM." SfS is serving over 5,000 students in 46 schools across Massachusetts, California, and Minnesota.
