SHARE is an NGO Working in Uganda and currently operating in Pallisa Uganda to support rural Households and Education of children affected by extreme poverty by building classrooms for them to go to.(Hammerslag School).
Hammerslag School built in Olok sub County Pallisa District was established in 2013 to improve the quality of life of VULNERABLE Children and their households by providing educational support - Fight Poverty. The idea is to build a boarding facility to give rural, street children accommodation, meals, and studies in the same environment to help retain of especially girl child the main culprits of school dropouts.
It’s located about 5 kilometers from its closest town, Pallisa and about 220 Km from the Capital Kampala. The School had 250 students’ in 2017, boys and girls who mainly come from the surrounding villages and slums in Pallisa Town. Currently 36 students are boarding at school and we hope this number to double in 2019. The school has friends- Hammerslag Family in America, who have helped build the existing structures we have and we are proud of today.
The school stated its classes / learning in grass shelters as classrooms in 2013 and in 2013 we received our very first Donation of over just 1000 USD from the Hammerslags and this is why named after them. http://goto.gg/21343
However, to continue to get more funding has been a huge problem, and the new partnership with Good Neighbors currently sponsoring 33 students in our school with food donations is a good opportunity and we are happy with the support this far, as a result there has been increased attendance because of meals at school. https://www.facebook.com/hammerslagschool/
The school is working to provide good and quality education by building permanent classrooms for orphan and vulnerable children in the affected / target community. Our staff (Teachers) are young, energetic volunteer-driven that seeks to improve the = access and quality of education available to disadvantaged children in rural communities in Pallisa Uganda.
