We provide , to students with food insecurities, a weekend backpack full of food. This provides students with not only food but energy to complete homework and household tasks. We are looking for volunteers that can assist with the delivery of packed bags to the schools on Fridays and pick up of empty bags from schools on Monday. We are looking for drivers (drivers can use own vehicle and we will reimburse gas) and driver assistants. Great for pairs. Schools are located in Niles, Buchanan, and Brandywine school districts.

Description

The Salvation Army Corps Community Center in Niles, Michigan is a place where those who are struggling can come to find help and hope.

We serve a meal 3 times weekly, help with groceries, provide utility and rent assistance, youth activities, worship services, and much more. However, the most important things we provide are kindness, compassion, and a listening ear.
