Cornerstone Assistance Network wants to place a Family Engagement Coordinator VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) in the Community Enrichment Center (CEC).

Pay: $990 per month BEFORE taxes

CEC is an After School program that provides learning opportunities through a series of actvities designed to engage children and parentsin learning the skills required to become successful students. Activities will engage, stimulate and foster good learning habits, create a fun learning environment and encourage parental involvement in the learning process. Expected outcomes will be an increase in the number and quality of activities providing the educational opportunities, greater participation and knowledge within target population and increased volunteer capacity.

The AmeriCorps VISTA member will engage in research, determine which are the best deliverable activities, recruit volunteers and participants, explore funding sources, design curriculum, and evaluate project outcomes. Working with CEC staff and volunteers, VISTA will design and implement activities that are engaging and meet the educational needs of the target population. This will involve both curriculum design and aggressive marketing strategies which will attract individuals in our current programs, as well as individuals from our community who are not in our programs but need this resource. Through the use of social media, the VISTA will engage the community in the CEC activities. Another major task will be Volunteer recruitment. The VISTA will need to continuously look for others to learn and implement these activities, so that the programs are sustainable.
