As a Victim Advocate, the primary duty would be to provide and connect with survivors of Domestic Violence in the LGBTQ community to the appropriate services within the organization and linkages in the community. Volunteers will be providing direct service, such as phone calls, crisis intervention, co-facilitation of groups, case management, referrals, and other duties as needed.

The Victim Advocate will also be expected to assist with outreach. Outreach involves attending resource fairs, special events, trainings, school fairs, etc. This is an opportunity to network, build connections, and promote the program to better serve the LGBTQ community.

Angel Step Up is a specific program under Southern California Alcohol & Drug Programs, Inc. for LGBTQ individuals affected by intimate partner violence. The primary focus is to provide victim advocacy by responding to the emotional and physical needs of the participant, using a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive approach.
