Lower School Library

The Lower School Library is a vibrant, bustling space with hundreds of students visiting weekly! If you are an avid reader, a lover of libraries, or a library school student, this may be the perfect opportunity for you!

Library volunteers perform a variety of tasks under direct supervision of (and with training from) the librarian. No prior library experience is required. Tasks include:

  • Re-shelving books
  • Creating book displays
  • Processing new books (stamping, covering, etc.)
  • Making copies, cutting out paper for crafts, laminating, and other school-type clerical work
  • Using the online cataloging software to weed books
  • Repairing damaged books
  • Helping with small projects

Library school students will have the added benefit of observing a flexibly scheduled library program in a brand new learning commons-style space with hands-on experience in library administration.

We ask that you commit to at least one hour per week. Available times are Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm. Mornings are preferred, but any time is appreciated!

If you are interested in helping out, please email Natalie with any related experience, your interest in this opportunity, and your availability. We look forward to meeting you!
