Hello volunteers,

The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association is teaming up with the Save Lives California Coalition to save lives and keep kids from smoking, by supporting the California Healthcare, Research and Prevention Tobacco Tax Act of 2016, also known as Prop 56. If passed by voters, Prop 56 will increase California’s cigarette tax by $2 per pack, keeping thousands of kids from becoming addicted to smoking and saving lives by helping fund research for cancer and other tobacco-related disease.

We know in order to help pass this important initiative we need broad community support and we hope you are interested in volunteering to help pass this historic ballot measure. Volunteers will gain experience in working in a professional environment, networking with public health officials and volunteers, assisting in calling California voters to raise awareness and garnish support, participating in various events, and recruiting volunteers to join the movement. If you have an interest in positively impacting your community and want to fulfill some meaningful community service hours, this is the right experience for you!
