Position: Neighborhood Coordinator (perfect for pro-bono or skilled volunteer)
Department: Neighborhood Services
Schedule: Weekdays
Description: Volunteer will work collaboratively with Neighborhood Services management team to develop, launch, and support an Interdepartmental Neighborhood Revitalization Taskforce
Goal(s) to be achieved by volunteer:
- Work with Department management team to develop project scope and direction
- Research best practices for effective, goal-oriented interdepartmental taskforces
- Execute informational assessment meetings with leadership in key departments
- Synthesize findings to help create a taskforce framework, include methods for sharing information, improving process, and evaluating results
- Launch taskforce and support taskforce efforts during the duration of placement
Job Requirements:
- Experience with various models of interdepartmental or interagency efforts (i.e. collective impact, CompStat, etc.)
- Experience with public affairs, community development, and other multi-disciplinary fields
Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking, conflict resolution, and risk management skills
- Ability to foster strong partnership, cooperation, and accountability among diverse sets of stakeholders
- Ability to remain detail-oriented while moving forward on deliverables
Knowledge: Planning, Community Development, Neighborhood Revitalization
Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent in Public Administration or related field
