Be a Zero Waste Block Leader!
Block Leaders are "green-minded" active neighborhood residents who help spread the word about recycling and composting in their neighborhoods.
As a Block Leader, you will receive training from Austin Resource Recovery staff, educational materials to distribute, invitations to attend tours of recycling & composting facilities, and much more. You pick the level at which you'd like to participate, and be part of a growing community of Austin residents helping guide their friends and neighbors towards Zero Waste.
What is a Zero Waste Block Leader?
The Zero Waste Block Leader's mission is to unite the community to promote environmental issues and help lead the effort in creating a cleaner, greener, Austin. As a Block Leader you will choose your level of participation, utilize educational materials that we provide and meet other Zero Waste Block Leaders and Austin Resource Recovery staff.
What do Block Leaders Do?
Block Leaders are a resource in their communities, helping guide their neighbors and friends in how to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost materials so they stay out of our landfill. Block Leaders serve an important role in helping Austin become a Zero Waste leader.
