PATH strives to provide our San Diego visitors with daily sack lunches. We’re looking for community partners to prepare lunches for our homeless visitors so they can stay well-nourished while they work to get back into a permanent home.
OPTION A) Donate Fully-Prepared Sack Lunches
PATH's Lunches for Bunches program is proud to endorse First Lady Michelle Obama's ChooseMyPlate initiative. ChooseMyPlate is an innovative approach to designing healthy, nutritionally balanced and affordable meals with suggested serving sizes for the 5 food group items, while reducing the amount of sodium, added sugars, and refined grains present in typical meals. We are proud to offer our visitors healthy, balanced meals in line with ChooseMyPlate guidelines. We ask our Lunches for Bunches volunteers to assemble lunches which include a sandwich, veggie option, fruit option, plus veggie or juice. Sacked lunches can also include a nice note from volunteers!
OPTION B) Donate Bulk Items or Snacks
Ideal bulk and snack items include boxes or bags of fruit, bottles of wate, and individual-sized containers of chips, cookies, crackers or similar snacks.
Please contact us for more information, and to schedule a drop-off time. Note that you must schedule a drop-off time so that we can alert staff, security, and residents. Also, note that volunteers do not distribute the sacked lunches directly. Thank you!
