The Golden Gate Audubon Society engages people to experience the wonder of
birds and translate that wonder into action; and to protect native bird populations
and their habitats. The Birding the Bay Trail docent program is an example of
putting the mission into action.
This program provides public education and outreach to park users about the birds and this shoreline along the San Francisco Bay Trail from the Albany Mudflats to the Richmond Marina.
Docents give spotting scope views of birds along the Bay Trail. Docents will work with a partner and go out for 2 hours once a month October through March.
Training happens at the Golden Gate Audubon Office in Berkeley. Materials will be provided at the training and other materials are available at the Golden Gate Audubon office. Join us!
