Did you know there are over 10,000 homeless vets in California? You can directly help those on the streets in Fresno by becoming a Veterans Benefits Coach. Volunteers serve as a point of contact for vets to get connected to state and federal benefits and services they have earned through military service. Individuals volunteer a minimum of two hours each week between 10:00am and 5:00pm Monday , Wednesday, Thursday or Friday). Free parking is available at the Betty Rodriguez Regional Library. An inteview, passing an on-line course;committing to a two hour shift weekly for six months are requirements included in this application process. This is a unique opportunity,especially ideal for former vets who want to help others.

Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
