Assist childcare staff in preparing food, clean up and kitchen organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Heat and organize lunches
Load and empty dishwasher
Clean and tidy kitchen
Log service hours in the volunteer binder.
TIME COMMITMENT
A minimum volunteer commitment of three months is requested. Volunteer shifts are available Monday through Friday from 10:30am-12:30pm. When a volunteer is unable to come to the Manor for a scheduled shift, he/she is expected to notify the Volunteer Coordinator or the Childcare Director.
SUPERVISION
The Volunteer Coordinator and Childcare Director will supervise kitchen help volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Physically fit and able to bend, reach and lift as needed
Able to maneuver in a kitchen space with ease
Ability to be flexible and sensitive to the needs of children, families and caregivers
Comfortable around young children
Respect diverse lifestyles, cultures, religions and values
Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with staff and fellow volunteers.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Volunteer applicants need to complete a disclosure form for a national criminal background check as well as submit immunization documentation for Chickenpox (Varicella), Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Tdap, (Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis) TB, a yearly physical and the flu shot. Some of these requirements can be provided through Saint Elizabeth Manor.

With 133 beds, Saint Elizabeth Manor provides long-term care, short-term rehabilitative care, specialized care for residents with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and hospice care.
