The Austin State Supported Living Center is looking for volunteers to serve on the Human Rights Committee to help ensure the rights of the residents are upheld and protected. The Human Rights Committee meets weekly on Thursdays in the mornings or afternoons. Volunteers serve on a rotating basis once or twice every two months.
The Austin State Supported Living Center provides aid and support to 190 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in order to increase their independence and improve their quality of life.

The mission of Austin State Supported Living Center is to provide aid and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in order to increase their independence and improve their quality of life.
Description
Founded in 1917, the Austin State Supported Living Center is home to mroe than 200 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The center provides a beautiful living environment and a wide range of individualized training and recreational programs.
Among the benefits received by the residents are comprehensive medical and psychiatric services; occupational, speech, and physical therapies; vocational and life skills training; recreation activities; community outings (shopping, dining, recreation, sports, etc.); and much more.
We are centrally located on 97 oak-covered acres at the southwest corner of 35th Street and Mopac in Austin, Texas.
