Shark Stewards is seeking a professional with a passion for the ocean and skills to catalyze our 2021 development program. Join a fun ocean team doing critical work to protect the ocean. The volunteer will work with the Director and key board members who will be responsible for researching grant opportunities, developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations and/or individual donors.

We are seeking advice on how to persuasively communicate our mission and programs to expand our base of potential funders to support 3 core programs in shark protection called Shark Watch, marine protected areas and expanding our conservation area in SE Asia.

We have examples of successful and rejected grants and access to the Foundation data base. Join our ocean team and help us restore ocean health by saving sharks and protecting critical marine habitat.

This position is virtual but we can meet face to face in the San Francisco Bay Area at our offices in Berkeley near UC, in Sausalito or in the City once COVID allows.

Thanks for you interest!!

Mission Statement

At home we are helping rstore habitat in the San Francisco Bay, and keeping the Bay clean through our beach clean ups in the National Parks waterfront in San Francisco.
