About The Opportunity
The Board are responsible for ensuring that the affairs of YMCA Doncaster are conducted legally and properly.
The Board meet between six and eight times a year with the occasional need for training sessions outside the normal schedule.
The present Board includes retired and working-age people with a range of work and life experiences. Some have prior knowledge of trusteeship whilst for others; YMCA Doncaster is their first experience of a governance role.
Important Note: The role of the Board is clearly to govern, not to manage or work directly with our resident clients.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for vibrant, passionate and skilled local people to become part of our Board, working with existing Trustees, to take us forward in to the future. Working at a strategic level, on governance issues such as policies, finances and updating our forward plan.
The YMCA has had a presence in Doncaster for almost 160 years. Our work currently focuses on providing support for young adults aged 16 to 25, offering them a home in our Hostel where they can feel safe. Our Community Centre offers them a place to have fun and to experience happier times.
To be considered for this role, you must complete and return the YMCA Doncaster application form.
Please see our website http://ymcadoncaster.org.uk/board/ to download an information pack which also contains the relevant application.
Practical Considerations
