Light the Night is a wonderful event that supports blood cancer patients and their families. More than 250,000 participants in the U.S. and Canada raise funds for vital, lifesaving research and patient services. On these special nights, Champions for Cures walk along a two-mile route carrying illuminated lanterns. Walkers join together and "light the night" as they celebrate survivorship and commemorate lives touched by cancer. More than a Walk, the evening event also includes food, family festivities, entertainment and special activities for cancer patients and those walking in memory of a loved one.
On this evening, we will need volunteers to assist with setting up various areas at the Walk site as well as assist with registration, food distribution, etc. The event itself runs from 5:30pm-9:00pm, but we will need volunteers to arrive at 12:30pm and work until around 4:30pm. Volunteers are encouraged to stay for the event and participate in the Walk .

Mission Statement
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.
