What will you work on:

In one day, a single volunteer with no previous construction experience can mud and spackle several rooms, install a new floor, or paint a small house. Imagine what’s possible in two days-or two weeks, or a month?

In this experience you will help rebuild at one of SBP's long term recovery operations. Opportunities include Puerto Rico, Houston, or Southeast Louisiana (New Orleans and Houma.) Their experienced site supervisors will train and equip you for your volunteer experience, and your safety is their top priority.

As a volunteer, you will literally help rebuild a family’s home. This work may include hanging insulation or drywall, mudding, spackling, sanding, texturing, priming, painting, laying floors, and/or hanging trim, doors, and baseboards. To learn more about SBP, visit SBPUSA.ORG

When:

  • Workdays are from 8:30-4:30 with a break for lunch
  • We build Monday-Saturday

What will you do:

  • Demolition, Insulation, Drywall, Mudding, Painting, Priming, Trim, Flooring, etc.
  • No experience necessary
  • Training, supervision, tools and protective gear provided

SBP is a disaster resilience and recovery organization founded in St. Bernard Parish in 2006 in response to Hurricane Katrina. SBP has rebuild over 640 homes in Greater New Orleans and over 4,036 homes for families nationwide. SBP is currently re-building in 6 states.
