Viviendasleon (VL) is an international development and education travel non-profit based in San Francisco, CA with local partners in Leon, Nicaragua. VL’s mission is to support human and economic development in the rural communities of León, Nicaragua and engage U.S. students in global citizenship. Our community projects and programs range from agroforestry, to small business creation, to computer training, and youth development.
Every semester of the year we are seeking a new Marketing and Research Associate (MRA) intern position for Viviendasleon (VL) in our San Francisco office. This person is responsible for community outreach, volunteer coordination, event planning, marketing, grants and foundation research, social media management, fundraising, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) management, and competitive research.
The MRA will assist in the analysis and management of VL’s Adwords account and campaigns. Additionally, the MRA will research other outreach and promotional outlets to advertise VL’s programs, projects, and upcoming events. High priority research areas include: media outlets and press releases, available grants and foundation funding opportunities, K-12 school contacts and tabling events, national and international competitors, online marketing techniques, and possible partnership opportunities.
Sufficient training and mentoring will be provided for the intern during their time with us. We are flexible in days and hours understanding the intern has academic responsibilities, our hope is that this internship will compliment their studies and they would be able to commit to 8-10 hours a week for 2-3 months. Start and end dates are flexible.
