We are looking for buddies for our differently abled special needs athletes. Volunteer opportunites are Sunday mornings in Fall and Spring. Please see our website at www.JacobsBuddiesSports.org/buddies for more information on our current season.
What are Buddies?
JBL Adaptive Sports Program Buddies are invaluable volun teers who par ticipate directly with individual players or help facilitate a group sports environment in order to enable our athletes to be safe and have fun while they participate in activities and games. Each session, Buddies are either assigned to individual players , assigned to run a station, or assigned to float and assist as needed.All are expected to c heer and be willing to be animated and helpful. Buddies that are assigned to individual players for a session, are tasked to stay "tuned-in" to their player, to keep their player motivated and active. They provide encouragement and facilitate social interaction with other players and buddies.
Who can be a Buddy?
We recommend that all Buddies be at least 12 years of age. The JBL Adaptive Sports Program Buddy is not a player in our program, but many do engage as they players partner, and sometimes as careful opposition. Buddies can be skilled athletes, or have no athletic experience.

The mission of Soccer Club of Los Gatos is to provide soccer and sports training to youth in a safe and supervised environment after school and during vacations. The mission of the Soccer Club of Los Gatos' Jacob’s Buddies League Adaptive Sports Program is to offer a community-based sports program that is designed to meet the needs of children with physical and/or mental disabilities through the utilization of peer buddies and professional coaches. We hope to provide the benefits of an organized, recreational, team sport activity to any differently abled athlete who wants to join us. The program is organized by volunteers with paid coaches leading each session.
