We're looking for a FUN team of volunteers who get the job DONE!
This is our 2nd Annual 5K Walk/Run for Education. Many students from low-income backgrounds don't apply to college because they assume they can't afford it. The purpose of this fundraiser is to bring awareness to the community of UNCF's mission, to make college financially possible for students. UNCF has successfully done this for over 73 years with the help of generous donors and volunteers. Learn more about us at www.uncf.org.

We as that volunteers be flexible and adaptable to any role that may need additional assistance.
- Refreshment Distribution: Hand out food and drinks to participants after crossing the finish line.
- Course Marshals/Monitors: Direct walkers/runners on the course, offer assistance and provide support to participants.
- Water Station: Fill and hand out cups of water to walkers/runners as they pass by, and clean up the station by raking up cups and filling trash bags.
- Setup/Breakdown Team: Provide general assistance with the setting up and/or breaking down of tables, vendor space, water stations, etc. Assist vendors with activities for children. * Start time is 6:30 AM
- Start Zone: Volunteers at the start line assist race staff in putting up the start line arch, preparing and securing start corrals, and assisting with corral control and movement during the wave start.

Since its founding in 1944, UNCF has raised more than $4.5 billion to help more than 400,000 students receive college degrees at UNCF-member institutions and with UNCF scholarships.
UNCF plays a critical role in enabling more than 60,000 students each year to attend college and get the education they need and that the nation needs them to have by:
- Awarding 10,000 scholarships and internships under 400 programs for students from low- and moderate-income families to attend more than 1,100 institutions and universities across the country;
- Providing financial support for its 37 member historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) for scholarships and capacity building;
- Advocating nationally for the importance of education and college readiness through its annual television program, a national public service announcement campaign, and commentary in national media;
- Advocating locally at events across the country such as Governor’s and Mayor’s luncheons, Walk for Education events and Mayor’s Masked Balls.
