*There is a current need for Animal Care volunteers on Friday Days. Other volunteer roles and schedules are available.

The Marine Mammal Center is a nonprofit veterinary research hospital and educational center. At The Marine Mammal Center, we are guided and inspired by a shared vision of a healthy ocean for marine mammals and humans alike. Our mission is to advance global ocean conservation through marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation, scientific research, and education. The Marine Mammal Center is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of ill and injured marine mammals - primarily elephant seals, harbor seals, and California sea lions. Since 1975, we’ve been headquartered in Sausalito, CA in the Marin Headlands within the Golden Gate National Parks, and have rescued and treated more than 20,000 marine mammals.

We are currently recruiting for many important volunteer roles throughout The Marine Mammal Center. Volunteers interested in animal care roles on FRIDAY DAYS will be expedited through the on-boarding process until the roles have been filled. Volunteer in a comfortable, friendly environment, learn about marine mammals, boost your resume, and feel good knowing that you’re supporting a good cause!

Volunteer Opportunities:

Animal Care - Join a crew and provide patient care to sick and injured animals.

We have an urgent need to fill one of the animal care volunteer crews: Friday Day. Day crews run from approximately 7am to 4pm. Animal Care volunteers are responsible for the "dirty work" at the Center, cleaning pens, prepping food and feeding the patients.

We are looking for volunteers to commit to joining one of these crews and attending every week for the entire shift time for at least 6 months with at least 80% attendance. If you are able to make this commitment, then please email us at volunteer@tmmc.org as we may be able to expedite your volunteer on-boarding process.
