  • 95 people are interested

A program was created, a building was restored, and the Cancer Wellness House was blessed - thanks to the efforts of countless volunteers. That initial spirit of giving has magnified, allowing Cancer Wellness House to respond to the increasing demand for services. The value of the hours contributed by hundreds of volunteers is priceless. Staff unanimously agrees that "the contribution of volunteers is critical to the quality and quantity of services Cancer Wellness House is able to provide."

Volunteers are motivated to contribute for a variety of reasons, applying their time and talents in many ways.

Licensed clinical social workers and psychologists facilitate all groups.

Professionals with an expertise in oncology lead discussions and lectures.

Specialists in allied health fields and complimentary therapeutic techniques conduct classes and workshops.

Enthusiasts with a variety of skills help plan special events.

Groups adopt a project - everything from yard care and house maintenance to seasonal parties and helping with facility expansion.

Individuals provide refreshments, assist with daily operations and member-to-member services.

Students participate as interns for class projects and community service.
