Have a passion for working with students in the area of STEM? A desire to help them have experiences that will shape their futures? A love for teaching? Ready to dedicate 2-6 hours to make an impact this upcoming school year? Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington is seeking volunteer STEM Experts dedicated to impacting student lives. STEM Volunteers will assist with the instruction for hands-on, project-based classes in the STEM and Arts subject areas. Instructional areas may include computers/technology, architecture, sciences, engineering, physics, environmental education, arts, health, forensics, media, horticulture, photography, languages, career exploration and other specialized skills training areas for ages 12-18. These positions will require comfort with technology-based instruction, and a willingness to adapt the curriculum based on the participants' interests. This is a perfect job for those who appreciate science, engineering, technology, and teaching. Volunteer to have a ton of fun and provide a great learning opportunity for children.
Program dates:
October 26, 2016 - Science (6pm - 8pm): 2-3 Facilitators for Beginners & Intermediate
November 12, 2016 - Technology (11am - 4pm): 3-4 Facilitators for Beginners & Intermediate
January 25, 2017 - Engineering (6pm - 8pm): 2-3 Facilitators for Beginners & Intermediate
February 11, 2017 - Arts (11am - 4pm): 3-4 Facilitators for Beginners & Intermediate
March 22, 2017 - Math (6pm - 8pm): 2-3 Facilitators for Beginners & Intermediate
Please note that location alternates in Northern Virginia and DC.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is to help boys and girls of all backgrounds, with an emphasis on at-risk youth, building confidence, develop character, and acquire the needed skills to grow into productive, civic-minded responsible adults.

Description
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is one of the largest affliates of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Our clubs are desgined to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
From public schools to public housing, our Club members are given opportunities to dream again. Our staff supported by the dedicated groups of volunteers, show the kids how to turn dreams into reality through planning, education, and hard work.
At BGCGW, youth can have fun, be heard, and particiapte in educational, recreational, and social activities which sure beats "being home alone." Out ultimate goal is ensuring happiness and success in lives of young people by helping them:
