Co-Teacher for ESL Conversation Class

Pathways (formerly Operation Bootstrap) seeks ESL Conversation Class Co-Teachers.

We are seeking a passionate and committed volunteer teacher to co-lead a weekly standards-based English Conversation Class. Materials and assistance in planning the lessons are provided. Requirements for the position include: patience, desire to work with adult students from all over the world, and a willingness to learn and serve. Teaching experience in English or ESL is preferred, but not required.

Our new semester of Conversation Classes will start the first week in March, with training and lesson planning beginning in late February. Classes are 2 hours long, and will take place on Monday mornings from 10am-12pm.

Pathways is an adult education center with 40 years of experience serving adults in the Lynn area. Our goal is to equip our adult students with the skills they need to be college and career ready. We offer classes in ESOL and preparation for the HiSET exam (formerly GED), as well as lessons in basic computer literacy. We are also in the process of planning integrated classes with local higher education and vocational/technical training programs to create a variety of pathways to success for our students.
