Be an Owens River Water Trail Pioneer

Inyo County was selected to receive a grant to establish the first designated water trail for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards, in California. The 6.3 mile canoe and kayak trail east of Lone Pine winds through one of the most scenic sections of the Lower Owens River--with numerous green meadows, willow trees, and spectacular views of the Alabama Hills, Mt. Whitney and the Inyo mountains.
We're ready to dig in. Building water trail is almost as fun as using it. It's a full-immersion, unforgettable experience-in the water, cutting back tules and moving obstruction, and on shore assiting those in the water. Participants can say that they were instrumental at helping establish the first designated river paddle trail in California and the west. Come out for this truly unique experience.

To sign-up, send an email to Ben Wickham ‎[ben@friendsoftheinyo.org]‎. Provide your contact information and let him know which days you’ll be available. He’ll send you information about what to bring and what to expect.

See you in the river!
