We’re so glad you’re thinking about joining our volunteer team at The 5th Avenue Theatre! We take great pride in creating the musical theater you see on our stage. We want to provide our patrons with an incredible experience from the moment they step into our magnificent lobby until the show ends and they leave. This is where your volunteer experience begins.

As a volunteer, you will be an integral part of both The 5th Avenue Theatre and the re-opening of downtown Seattle! Our Volunteer Ushers are vitally important to our Front of House team. They are the first and possibly only point of contact a guest has when coming to the Theatre. We ask that our volunteers join us in our mission "To nurture, advance, and preserve all aspects of America’s great original art form: the musical."

We require all volunteer applicants to attend an Orientation Session prior to joining our Volunteer team and to participate in at least one training event. Each volunteer is scheduled at the discretion of the House Management staff at The 5th Avenue Theatre.

Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities and Requirements

• Attend a Volunteer Orientation Session prior to becoming a volunteer.
• Attend a Training Session prior to working as a volunteer
• Be dependable and dedicated to The 5th Avenue Theatre Volunteer Team

• Ability to climb 2 flights of stairs
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Be comfortable offering assistance in the event of an emergency
• Comply with all COVID-19 safety procedures and regulations
• Comply with all Theatre related safety & evacuation procedures
• The 5th Avenue will be requiring Covid-19 Vaccinations for all employees and volunteers.
