About NMDP

Mission Statement

We save lives through cell therapy. At NMDP (formerly known as Be The Match), we believe each of us holds the key to curing blood cancers and disorders. As a global nonprofit leader in cell therapy, NMDP creates essential connections between researchers and supporters to inspire action and accelerate innovation to find life-saving cures. With the help of blood stem cell donors from the world’s most diverse registry and our extensive network of transplant partners, physicians and caregivers, we’re expanding access to treatment so that every patient can receive their life-saving cell therapy.

Description

For patients with blood cancers like Leukemia and Lymphoma, and other life-threatening diseases, a cure exists. We are the world's leading nonprofit organization focused on saving lives through marrow and umbilical cord blood transplantation

When you volunteer with NMDP, you are helping blood cancer and blood disease patients get their cure - a blood stem cell transplant from a matching donor. As a volunteer, you can truly impact the lives of patients and their families. Last year, volunteers gave nearly 125,000 hours of their time. This commitment is vital to the life-saving work at NMDP. By working together, we create a chain reaction of good and positivity in our communities and cultures. Every volunteer opportunity at NMDP helps make a difference.
