About

Are you looking for something rewarding and fun to do this summer? Volunteer at the South Carolina State Museum. Many different volunteer opportunities are available AND you can choose a schedule to meet your availablilty. The museum is open every day and Tuesday evenings until 10pm.

Help with Summer Museum Camps, gallery monitoring, greeting guests or help with public events such as the Total Eclipse of the Sun. Learn to give tours of our telescope gallery featuring the largest public collection of American made telescopes in the World! Meet professional staff, learn all about South Carolina, build your resume or enhance your retirement years.

Training is free.

You will be volunteering with friendly people. You may pick your own schedule to match your availability. Volunteers receive generous discounts at the museum store and cafe and get free guest passes. Parking is also free and plentiful.

The first step is to attend a 3-hr museum orientation held on Saturday, July 22nd in the morning from 9am - noon. Please contact Jeff Powley at Jeff.Powley@scmuseum.org for more informaton and to reserve your place at the orientation.
