Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity in the Columbia, SC area? Volunteer at the South Carolina State Museum. Many different volunteer opportunities are available AND you can choose a schedule to meet your availability. The museum is open every day and Tuesday evenings until 8pm.
There are numerous types of volunteer opportunities, from behind the scenes, to gallery monitoring, and greeting guests. If you are interested there are opportunities once you become a volunteer to gain further training to become a Docent and lead tours and teach education stations! Museum volunteering helps build your resume or can enhance your retirement years.
Training is free. All materials are free.
You will be volunteering with friendly people. You may pick your own schedule to match your availability. Volunteers receive generous discounts at the museum store and cafe and get free guest passes. Parking is also free and plentiful.
The first step is to attend a museum orientation, "Museum 101". Please contact Pam Borawski at Pam.Borawski@scmuseum.org for more information and to reserve your place at the orientation.
Our next Museum 101 orientation training is SATURDAY, JANUARY 13, 2018 at 9am until 12pm. If you cannot attend January's session, there is another training held each month, so please contact Pam for further training dates.
