Want to help out with a great cause? Ten volunteers are needed for Green Country Area Special Olympics Bowling on Saturday, September 29 th at Broken Arrow Lanes, 4701 S Elm Pl. Broken Arrow, OK. The event is from 9am to 5pm. We have sessions from 9am to noon, noon to 3pm, and 3pm to 5pm. Volunteers may participate in one or all of the sessions. Volunteers will be keeping score, cheering on athletes, handing out awards and assisting volunteers as needed. Family and friends are welcome.

Mission Statement
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities [mental retardation], giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitnesss, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in as sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Description
Special Olympics Oklahoma develops and administers a year-round training and competition program throughout the state offering approximately 100 competition events each year. Competition is offered in 15 sports for athletes 8 years of age and above.
Special Olympics is a volunteer driven organization. Volunteers come from corporations, businesses, civic organizations, schools, churches, and individuals. The majority of volunteers assist in the running of our competitions; from organizing athletes, to timing & measuring, to presenting awards.
From time to time volunteers are needed at Special / Fundraising events.
