Summary: The Adoption Day Event Coordinator (ADEC) will be in charge of all adoption day events at our location partners (PetSmart, Tractor Supply Co, Chuck & Don’s, etc) and will oversee all location event leads. The ADEC will work with the Events Manager to ensure all adoption days for Ruff Start Rescue are networked and marketed as much as possible through various outlets. The ADEC will assist the event leads to recruit fosters to attend the adoption events. The ADEC will also be responsible for making sure the adoption events are kept up to date and correct in the events spreadsheet.
Time Commitment: Approximately 10-15 hours per month, depending on the number of events.

Reports to: Events Manager
Responsibilities:
- Contact our adoption event partners (PetSmart, Tractor Supply, etc) introducing yourself and giving them your contact info and the main events@ruffstartrescue.org email address
- Email active fosters about upcoming adoption day event opportunities
- Set up adoption day events on various websites and social media
- Make sure each site event lead(s) have the needed supplies and inform the Events Manager if supplies are needed
- Keep everyone informed of when the National Adoption Weekends at Petsmart are
- Familiarize yourself with our adoption event packet we give to fosters (adoption event policy)
- Familiarize yourself with Petsmart adoption partner program manual
- Educating fosters on the requirements to attend adoption events
Qualifications:
- Must be 18+
- Reliable access to the internet
- Ability to work courteously and cooperatively with all members of RSR and the public
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Prior experience with event planning is a plus

Who We Are & How We Do It
We are a foster based animal rescue based out of Central MN. We are a No-Kill dog and cat rescue organization. We rescue stray, neglected, abandoned, and surrendered dogs and cats as well as ferrets, guinea pigs and rabbits. We all work very hard to place them in new loving homes. We have a facility in Princeton for staff and supplies, but we operate throughout all of central MN. In fact, we have most of our fosters in the twin cities and surrounding areas.
This group could not survive without all of our wonderful volunteers who spend countless hours devoting time to save lives. Most volunteers work full time jobs, have children, their own animals, etc and have a very busy schedule. So if your phone calls or emails are not answered by a live person right away, it’s probably because we are at work and will call you as soon as we can.
