Project 1808 is looking for volunteers to help crochet rugs/mats from Ankara fabric scraps.

This is a new initiative to not only raise funds for our organization by selling rugs on our Etsy page, but we also hope to act as an example for the community, showing that you can use discarded materials to create usable products to use or sell.

A location will be set once we have volunteers. Fabric and fabric scraps will be provided. We ask that you bring a large crochet needle if you have one (size Q). We can also demonstrate how the rugs can be made by hand (literally).

If you have sewing skills, we are also looking to make bags, burses, and landyards out of some old ankara fabric and clothing as well. Please message us for details.
