During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Caring, responsible individuals (18+) needed to help staff our 24/7 crisis lines. This includes a Call4Kids Line--but volunteers must be able to handle calls on all our crisis lines. These include main crisis line, Call4Kids, Elder Lifeline, HIV Care Line, National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, National Veterans Hotline, after-hours answering service for the Rape Crisis Center. All volunteers must go through training. We especially need volunteers for overnight shifts (11:00pm-7:30am) and morning shifts (7:30am - 1:00pm). Other shifts (1:00pm-5:30pm & 5:30pm-11:00pm) are also available. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of one recurring shift every other week.

The mission of the Memphis Crisis Center is to be a compassionate lifeline to anyone in distress.
The Memphis Crisis Center provides a 24/7 crisis lifeline to anyone in distress. We provide help, build hope, and save lives every day. Our trained volunteers, using a combination of compassionate listening, crisis de-escalation, and suicide prevention, assist callers with immediate problems and link them to the long-term services they need to cope and overcome. All our services are free, safe, and confidential. Along with the crisis line, the MCC administers the Call4Kids Line, The Elder Lifeline, the HIV Care Line, serves as the local affiliate of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, the National Veterans Hotline, the National Spanish Hotline, partners on the SeniorBSafe Line, and provides after-hours answering services for the Rape Crisis Center and the Family Safety Center.
We'll work with your schedule.
