Disability Awareness Day 2016

Volunteers are needed to assist with our 9th annual Disability Awareness Day event.

The event will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 10:00am - 1:00pm at San José City Hall Rotunda and Plaza.

Volunteers are needed to assist in various areas including:

Registration - assist attendees to sign in and complete a registration form for the event.

Commemorative Distribution - collect registration forms from attendees and distribute commemorative items (traditionally cinch bags)

Parking - assist attendees to locate available parking lots/spaces and direct/control traffic. Also assist with signage and parking validation.

Food Truck Assistance - assist attendees with disabilities to place orders, carry food, direct attendees to available food trucks, answer questions as to menu, etc

Games Area Assistance - assist attendees to engage in various carnival style games, distribute prizes, line management

Set Up/Clean Up - assist event managers with general set up of event including resource area tables and chairs, tent placements, signage, garbage and recycling, etc
