Calling fashion and animal lovers! Join the WearWoof Giving Circle and support our mission to end pet homelessness in Western PA!

WearWoof turns unwanted better women's fashion into funding to save the lives of homeless animals, through our beautiful upscale resale boutique at McIntyre Square in the North Hills. We've partnered with dozens of local animal shelters and rescues, including Animal Friends, the Animal Rescue League, the Western PA Humane Society, Beaver County Humane Society, Hope Haven Farm Sanctuary and many more.

We are looking for caring, friendly people to join our Giving Circle! Meeting #1 was a blast and we are welcoming additional members!

Giving Circles are formed when caring folks come together to pool their time, energy, money and resources to do good. They are a great way for people to volunteer and socialize with like-minded people, all while accomplishing a big goal without a major time or financial commitment. This amazing group will pack a lot of power into a small amount of time and have fun doing it!

Meeting approximately 6 times per year, the WearWoof Giving Circle will socialize with cocktails and appetizers while working on Giving Projects, such as fashion drives to support our pipeline of fashion donations for the WearWoof Shop, and development-related projects such as events, prize procurement, mailing campaigns and more.

Each meeting members will be expected to "tithe" $20 for a special project that will be announced that night! The Giving Projects will have a "value proposition" of about $200 per member, and won't require any additional out-of-pocket expense, especially if you are creative.

Giving Circle Meeting #2 will take place at the home of WearWoof founder, Nancy Lee, on Wednesday, November 9th at 6:30-8:30 p.m. (Meeting locations will vary.)

This time it's BYOB (wine, beer or soda) - Nancy will provide the munchies.

We'll meet every 6-8 weeks depending on scheduling, to finalize projects, reconnect, reflect on our work, learn about animal welfare, meet adoptable animals from local shelters, and discuss the next project. Meeting locations may vary.

Members are expected to commit to the $20 tithe per meeting and complete the Giving Projects. You must be comfortable with light fundraising, or be willing to try!

WearWoof is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Mission Statement

WearWoof’s Mission is to establish Pittsburgh as the Middle Atlantic region’s most pet-friendly city by supporting the work of like-minded shelters, rescues and organizations in ending pet homelessness, providing resources and education for responsible pet ownership, and aiding the efforts of small, volunteer based local rescues through the consolidation of information, resources and support.

Description

WearWoof is not a shelter or rescue. We are an animal welfare organization that operates a women’s resale shop. Our goal is to support the work of approved shelters and rescues whose mission is aligned with ours. Although we support the efforts Pittsburgh area Shelter and Rescue Partners of all sizes, we are especially attentive to the needs of smaller rescues and shelters who are big on heart but low on resources. Proceeds from sales at the shop, as well as our other fundraising activities, are directed toward our Shelter and Rescue Partners. These Partners are local groups and organizations that must undergo an application and vetting process before being approved to receive WearWoof funding and support.
