Do you love books? Do you like interacting with the public and giving them great deals on gently used books and cool literary merchandise? Are you looking for a way to give back to the library?
The Friends of the Jefferson County Public Library Gift and Book Shop is not only a great way to raise funds for our Library, it also affords volunteers the opportunity to commune with fellow book lovers and socialize with library patrons.
The Friends Gift and Book Shop operates seven days a week and is looking for a few steady volunteers who can give three hours of their time a week to a regular shift or who are willing to complete training to fill in the occasional shift as a substitute. Volunteers price books, arrange shelves, cashier, and work with the Jefferson County Library Foundation staff and volunteers on merchandising and marketing.

The Jefferson County Library Foundation’s mission is to support and enrich the capabilities, resources and services of the Jefferson County Public Library through fundraising and advocacy efforts that benefit our diverse community!
Description
Jefferson County Library Foundation (JCLF) provides critical support to Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL), expanding free programs and services to all Jefferson County residents. Through public outreach, advocacy and fundraising JCLF strengthens JCPL and promotes greater awareness of its valuable resources and services, helping JCPL ensure free and equal access to information and great literature to all Jeffco residents.
Our primary outreach activities include our Spring and Fall Whale of a Used Book Sale, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. These 3-day sales attract more than 5,000 book-loving bargain-hunters, take about 200 volunteers to run and raise more than $70,000 for JCPL programs each sale.
Funds raised are allocated to important Jefferson County Public Library programs, such as Summer Reading, a crucial program that keeps school-aged children engaged in learning and away from the "summer slump," early literacy programs and Culture Pass, just to name a few.
