If you love books and your local library, the Whale of a Used Book Sale is a great opportunity to get together with likeminded book lovers while raising money to support the programs of Jefferson County Public Library!
We need volunteers to set up tables, box and unbox books, cashier at the sale and help keep the books neat and tidy during this three-day event that featuers more than 80,000 books and media items and welcomes more than 4,000 peope.
One of the largest sales in Colroado, the Whale Sale is known for its friendly volunteers and great customer service.
The sale is set up between October 17th and October 20th, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden, Colorado. The sale is open to the public October 21 - October 23rd. Join our team and receive great benefits, like lunch on us, two free books per 4-hour shift and the knowledge that you're sustaining a great institution--Jeffco Public Library!

Description
Jefferson County Library Foundation (JCLF) provides critical support to Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL), expanding free programs and services to all Jefferson County residents. Through public outreach, advocacy and fundraising JCLF strengthens JCPL and promotes greater awareness of its valuable resources and services, helping JCPL ensure free and equal access to information and great literature to all Jeffco residents.
Our primary outreach activities include our Spring and Fall Whale of a Used Book Sale, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. These 3-day sales attract more than 5,000 book-loving bargain-hunters, take about 200 volunteers to run and raise more than $70,000 for JCPL programs each sale.
Funds raised are allocated to important Jefferson County Public Library programs, such as Summer Reading, a crucial program that keeps school-aged children engaged in learning and away from the "summer slump," early literacy programs and Culture Pass, just to name a few.
