We are looking for help at the USO Wisconsin office at the Milwaukee County War Memorial in downtown Milwaukee. There is free parking in the lot. We support local US military families at our centers and various programs. We offer a great view of Lake Michigan from the office, a passionate team, and a way to thank military for their service in a meaningful way.
Requirements
- 10-12 hours a week.
- Volunteer can pick schedule. Anytime between 8am-5pm weekdays.
- Minimum 3 months. Prefer longer commitment.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Microsoft Excel and Word skills required
- Facebook experience a plus
- Volunteer Tasks
- Send thank you letters
- Answer phones
- Hand out tickets for sporting events and other events to service members at office
- Update donor spreadsheet
- Update social media
- Other administrative tasks

Whether it is a commitment of time from a volunteer or a contribution of dollars from a donor, the USO turns this generosity into centers, programs and services that reach troops in the most remote corners of the globe.
Description
Volunteers work in a variety of catagories and must be able to work independantly with guidence. We have 3 locations in Wisconsin currently. Opportunities for Days, Evenings, and weekends. All locations are handicapped accessible.
- Our Airport center located on Concourse D at General Mitchell International Airport, assists traveling military and their families from 8 am - 8 pm daily. This location sees an adverage of 10-20 guests per day.
- Our MEPS Canteen serves our New Recruits and their families. With 100 guests per day this center is busy. This location is open from 5:30 am - 3 pm Monday - Friday. Located at 11050 Liberty Drive in Milwaukee just off the freeway.
- Our main office located in the War Memorial Building in downtown Milwaukee is the newest location and serves as the Main operation base for state wide activities. Volunteers do not work at this location directly.
