The Volunteer Center of Clearfield County currently has a need for volunteers at Penn Highlands Clearfield (Clearfield Hospital). The volunteer will be responsible for greeting people in the Emergency Department/Registration area of the hospital as they come in the door, helping to guide them to where they need to be, assist if a wheelchair is needed and visit the waiting area from time to time to see if anyone needs anything...even if just a listening ear or a warm smile. A desk will be provided near the registration entrance.
Additionally, you will be provided with the opportunity to be trained to assist with families during emergency alerts (cardiac/stroke/respiratory/trauma). It really will be an interesting opportunity!

The Volunteer Center of Clearfield County (VCCC) provides opportunities for people to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. Sponsored by the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc., VCCC is dedicated to making a difference in our community through volunteer service. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, environmental organizations, nursing/personal care homes, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. VCCC offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. VCCC matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
