Do you enjoy working with the public? Are you interested in history and the role trains had in shaping our community? Are you a self starter? The Bellingham Railway Museum needs some enthusiastic helpers who can assist in a variety of roles in the Museum.
We serve the public 5 days a week and need some friendly people who can assist with taking admission, showing guests around, and helping operate model trains. If you have an interest in history or any technical skills, those would be a huge plus because those subjects are integral to what we do.
Our need is to have dependable people who can commit to at least one day a week Your role may be varied depending on the needs of the day and could range from greeting customers, light housekeeping, and answering questions about the items we have on display. Even if you do not currently know much about history or the area, your skills may be a match if you are good with people.
*must be comfortable with some down time at the museum - we can be very busy at times but things at the museum can also be very quiet at times. It is important to have dependable volunteers available for both situations.
*All volunteers are required to take the "Stewards of Children" training within the first month of service at the Museum. (The BRM will pay for the training.)
We are a fun and friendly group and we hope you will consider joining us!
